We’ve lost track of when The Last Guardian was first announced, it was so long ago. And, sadly, it doesn’t look like it’s going to be out any time soon. Speaking to French site JeuxVideo, Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony’s Worldwide Studios for Sony Computer Entertainment, couldn’t even make the promise that the game will land in 2013.
“Can you confirm for our readers that the game will arrive well next year on PS3?” asked the site. “No, sorry, I can not say that,” came the reply, translated over at NeoGAF. “Because the last time we talked about a date for The Last Guardian, we finally disappointed many people. But I can tell you that the team is working hard on the project, including the engine. It is precisely because the teams working on the technical aspect of the game that we have nothing concrete to show you today.”
“So now I’m waiting for the right time to introduce you to The Last Guardian and speak with confidence of a release date.”
It’s been assumed for a little while, at least here at TSA, that the game will end up being a PS4 launch title, rather than landing on the system it was originally intended for. Team Ico have hit numerous development difficulties, and the exit of key staff has left a few wondering whether it’ll even make it out at all. It will, of course, but if it’s not next year then surely it’s next-gen…

Just annouce it as a PS4 title Sony as it seems that the PS3 can’t handle the complex motions that they want to implent in the game. Wonder if it’s in development hell or they are trying their best to get the PS3 to do what they want? If it’s in development hell, we may not see it and it could end up as Sony’s version of DNF in terms of development. :O Wonder if they’ve asked Naughty Dog for help as they seem to know the PS3 inside and out?

Wow, this still isnt out yet?!? I sincerely thought this came out long before now, smells alot like a game destined to let everyone down now, nothing good comes out of this kind of development.
Seriously though man, once you properly crack Dwarf Fortress you permanently lose a quarter of your brain to thinking up new ways of pouring magma over Colossi/Forgoten Beasts/your own dwarves. and thus only ever scan anything you purport to read.
