Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Confirmed For March 22nd Release

Capcom lock the HD remake down.

Capcom have finally locked down the Western release of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, the HD version that’s aimed at the Wii U. The game will be released here in Europe on the 22nd of March, with the US getting the game a few days earlier.

The game is a beefed up version of the Wii title Monster Hunter 3, and will be on both the Wii U and the Nintendo 3DS. The two versions will be able to speak to each other in the sense that saves can be transferred, although not between different regions.

The Wii U version will support online play.

Nintendo have also let us know that there’ll be a demo, for both the Wii U and 3DS versions, on the 21st of February via the eShop. The demo will feature one Beginner and one Advanced single-player quest, with players picking from 12 weapons as they fight Lagombi and Plesioth.

Man I just love the look of this game. I wish it would be brought to the PS3, I will no way play this on my dustbox (the wii).

If ever sales could do with a lift, release a Monster Hunter title.

Vita looks on longingly from the sidelines

“Monster hunter is crap they don’t even speak a language”

huh? but you can hear them swinging weapons and making noises of pain when swiped by a tail. Even the shopkeepers and quest clerks say Haiii?

I also remember a Monster Hunter psp game that was meant to be upgraded for Vita. Or was that just a demonstration of the Vita emulation?

Yeah I’m pretty sure they had Monster Hunter 3 HD pegged for the Vita at some point early on – it was one of the things that first got me interested in the Vita. Sadly they’ve never localised the PS3 version over here and Capcom and Nintendo seem far too cosy now for it to actually make it to Vita.

it was just showing how PSP games played on the Vita I think, still sad that they never localized MHP3rd though.

Lego City Undercover and Need For Speed are the same month too! Think they will miss out to Rayman and Monster Hunter though…

Nintendo has the golden egg with this Monster Hunter exclusivity. Knowing Capcom, it’s a bit weird they won’t release these games on as many platforms as possible.

Yeah I’ve wondered about that – when they milk every last drop of income out of Streetfighter, and most of their releases are multiplatform why are the Monster Hunter games seemingly platform locked? Unless Nintendo have made some behind the scenes dealing?
