We’ll save the details for our preview later (we’ve seen it, and it’s lovely) – until then, bask in the glow of a surprise HD update from Ubisoft: classic 2D platformer Flashback is getting a current-gen update, and it’s looking great.
The game has been updated by its original creator and now runs in 3D, thanks to Unreal.

cool, i loved the game first time round, it won’t have the wow factor the rotoscoped animation did back in the day, but the gameplay was solid.
they’ve done a good job of updating it.
i still want to get my hands on a copy of the mega cd version.
i wonder if this version will still have the run through walls glitch. ^_^

I’ve never heard of this but the gameplay reminds me of Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee / Exodus, which is a good thing.

Looks good although the fluid animation which made the original stand out won’t have quite the same impact this time around.

I play the original Flashback roughly once a year since it came out. Even though it’s very old fashioned in its controls, it’s still brilliant. Even if this is just a prettier version of that, I’m happy enough. If they can update the gameplay a little bit then hopefully that’s even better!
