Note: The Last Of Us’ Single Player Plot Is Out There

Warning, guys: it looks like details of The Last Of Us have been extracted from the God Of War: Ascension disk, if stories circulating this evening are to be believed.

If it’s not made-up, it might be time to leave the internet for six weeks.

It’s unlikely that the single player information will appear readily, it looks like only a small number of people currently know what’s going on (outside of the developer, obviously) but multiplayer bits and bats are certainly out there.

A breakdown of what’s on the disk – presumably left there by Naughty Dog – was posted on the Official US PlayStation forums, but has since been removed by moderators.

It seems like there are key files on the Ascension disk that have been opened up. A thread on NeoGAF (a thread that’s at least one click away from the less important stuff) has highlighted the danger.

There’s also a list of what look like multiplayer boosters.

Hopefully the single player strings, which apparently list the chapter names that are the most delicate data, will remain secret until the game launches. It goes without saying that anyone posting the information on TSA will be banned.

The Last Of Us is due out in June.

  1. Why would they leave something as important as that on the GoW:A disc?

    • No idea, bizarre.

Apparently there are references to Uncharted games too, indicating it’s the same engine.

      • Well, it’s definitely interesting but I wouldn’t want to spoil it for myself. Thanks for the heads up!

  2. ” It goes without saying that anyone posting the information on TSA will be banned.”

    Bravo :-)

  3. Have to say, not interested in seeing the chapter names – though if the uncharted games are anything to go by, the names don’t always give much clue to what’s happening. The only thing I’d like to know is how many chapters maybe. Not gonna go look for that info though.

  4. Bits & bats? :-)

Bits & bobs has been superseded. Love it.

    • But is there room left on the scale between bits and bats and tits and twats?

Gotta say I’m baffled by this news, fair enough developers pass engine code between themselves but to leave specific information about a future release on code to be published on a totally different game seems ridiculous. But then maybe I’ve got the wrong idea of what goes on, I only did a bit of C and Java programming and I was crap at it, I was clueless.

    • A regional difference perhaps? I’ve always known it as bits and bobs.

  5. I’m afraid to use the internet now.

    • You should be. It’s a scary place… >_>

  6. Cheers for the heads up TSA. Although I would be staying well away from any article detailing the ins & outs of TLoU…….don’t wanna spoil it for meself.

  7. I wouldn’t worry too much. I’ve been trying off and on all morning to find out these spoilers and forum mods appear to have taken them down, lol :P

  8. TLoU Spoiler – Fungus isn’t so fun anymore :)

  9. thx TSA for the headsup! will only use this site for 6 weeks forward then!! =)
