So, did you all enjoy Eurovision this year? Twitter’s not stopped plinging away all evening about it, and I must admit that I flicked past it only to see some dancing meatballs and hear lyrics about them containing horse.
If only I’d been able to vote for that song!
This week sees tonycawley helping me out of a jam at the last minute. I had no submissions last week, but he stepped up with hastily taken photos when I randomly accosted a few people on Twitter!
So what can we see here? Well, Tony’s PS3 is tucked into a little fireplace-esque cubby hole, with some of his son’s toy cars on the floor, one of the dangers of being a dad… His small collection of games similarly lives tucked into a bookshelf with CDs, books and elephants.
To explain a little more, the man himself:
There was a time when my gaming collection was much more extensive, but I’ve trimmed it down a lot in recent years, due to both my job and having a 3 year old son. My gaming time has reduced and as a result so has my collection, most of which is now stored digitally.
The telly is new, hence the unsightly wires, but I’m redecorating in the summer so I’ll deal with that then.
Finally, a little shout out to TheShockwave who also answered the call with a quick photo of the TV, 360 and PS3, which just screams student life at us all. Coincidentally it is at his student digs.

I’ve been absolutely mainlining Velocity Ultra since Wednesday, with an intravenous drip going from the audio jack to my bloodstream. Well, not literally, but it feels like it! I’m so close to the platinum, as well, with all the levels perfected, and just a soul-crushingly difficult pace invaders minigame standing in my way. I will beat it. I want that trophy.
Not half as much as Forrest_01 wants trophies though, as he played uDraw Instant Artist to get his precious shiny trophy. Similarly, F4rgo went through two rage deletes on his way to getting the F1 Race Stars platinum, which is quite impressive to see him come back to!
Taylor Made seems to have himself the fastest platinum for FIFA 13 on the PS Vita, whilst R1MJAW is similarly mobile, completing New Super Mario Bros. 2, though he’ll need to head back for all the stars.
Broonba finished a 1999 mode run on BioShock Infinite, something which Youles was having a little trouble with before polishing it off for his 48th platinum, this morning. Youles also revealed some of the deepest darkest workings of his brain, as he’s holding off conquering Tomb Raider so it can be his 50th platinum and brings his completion rate above 60% on PSNProfiles, after getting SoundShapes back up to 100%. He also said that he has a second account for trying out games he’s not sure of, to help avoid that pesky 0% trophy card issue!
Not a problem for B_Cambo, who seems to platinum every game he plays, with Hitman Contracts his latest target to fall. Neither for Crazy_Del, who always get there in the end, taking multiple arduous attempts to get the “I pushed the button and lived!” gold trophy in Payday: The Heist.
Speaking of arduous attempts, I’m off to try and stop those invading aliens once more!

Everyone is doing so well on trophy hunting these days. I’d just like to add I have my ps3 and vita back after 2 months of Uni exams, with a back log of ps+ games. Let the trophy hunting all summer begin !

I have good and bad news… I’ll let you decide which is which.
I managed to beat the final bonus mission this morning, (woo!) but there’s a bug which means the Ripley trophy doesn’t trigger, which futurlab are busy trying to patch and get sent out. (Boo!)
Could come down to who has the fastest internet! ;-) (but pwetty pwease, can I have this?)
Awww, I just managed to do it a second time, reverting to an older save, and it still didn’t trigger… Ah well.

To be fair when you said you were going for the platinum I felt relieved because at least I can sort of savour the game. But this has just made it a whole lot more tense (for me anyway).
It could well be that you’ll get it though. Some of the bonus missions are a bit tricky and frustrating for me, and I still have a while to go. Plus in all fairness if it wasn’t for the glitch you’d have had it. meh its yours, you did it. I’ll take my time and get high on Velocity. This webpage is currently in an upwards motion as I type.

Still quite a collection on the HDD tonycawley, but minimalist is probably the way most of us are heading anyway with the digital integration dawning prominently (price pending :P)…..also needs must & all that. ;)

I blame Playstation plus mostly. There was a time I’d buy everything new on release but now plus has given me such a backlog I don’t generally bother buying new any more.

Oh, and how do you work out your platinum time. Is it taken from your 1st trophy time to your platinum time? Or is it another way?

For fastest platinums it’s taken from release date. So just the absolute earliest platinum date. Keeps things fairly simple.

I do see why it’s simpler taken from release date but I would love it to be earliest trophy, as I have some contenders in that case, but with an 8 month old I’m not getting new releases recently!
Just out of interest what is the trophy level for someone with 50 plats?
