Rockstar are pulling out all the stops to make GTA V the biggest game release ever and have continued that trend today by releasing a companion app called iFruit. At the minute it only looks like it has released on Apple devices, with my own search in the Play Store proving fruitless.
The app links directly to your Grand Theft Auto V experience allowing you to create your own vehicles using the Los Santos Customs tool, including creating your own license plates. Once the car is built it will be available in your garage in both GTA V and GTA Online.
There’s also a Chop The Dog mini game where you look after Franklin’s dog, Chop. With this tool you can look after the dog by feeding him, playing with him and cleaning him. This will also link to the Grand Theft Auto V experience as the more time you spend with Chop. In game he will find items for Franklin and also perform tricks.
The description by Rockstar is full of their satirical humour with the app being described as something “to further postpone the need for real social interaction.”
Grand Theft Auto V is out tomorrow and our review is here for you to read.

Perhaps I’m being dumb but I can’t find it on the App store…unless it’s not out until tomorrow either.

I’ve only got my iPhone…laptop is at home :(
Will have to do it later via the laptizzle.

search for GTA and then find GTA III and then click on the “Rockstar Games” bit where it says who developed the game you’re looking at. It shows up there :)

You Sir are a gentlemen, thank you! :)

By the way…quite a fun app. Chop the Dog may get me through the wait until my copy arrives tomorrow

Not on Android, darn. I’ve unsuccsessfully searched Play Store and Amazon Appstore. Sort it out R*, we’re only about one third of the global market.

Agreed!!

Android now has 80% of the market. If Rockstar have failed to cater for Android, than that just demonstrates how out of touch they are.

I thought my number seemed small, I did get it from Wikipedia though. Thanks for the update. Although that’s 80 percent of devices shipped the last quarter, so the real user percentage should be slightly lower.

I want a fully fledged Lifeinvader app :D

It’s also coming to PS Vita on Wednesday via PSM
