October’s PlayStation Plus Content Now Live

There’s still almost a week to go before October, and a few hours before the full PlayStation Store update, but you’re now able to download the new Instant Game Collection content on the store – we’ve included links to each of them below.

The big game for this month is Far Cry 3, but there are four other games hitting the service, including Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams and Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen which are all on PS3.

On the Vita side of things, you can download Street Fighter X Tekken or Touch My Katamari if fighting games aren’t your thing.

This means that five games are leaving the service, however – Assassin’s Creed III, Saints Row: The Third, Payday: The Heist, Urban Trials and New Little Kings Story, so if you haven’t downloaded them then you’re out of luck, unfortunately.

  1. Far Cry 3, great stuff. Lucky I didn’t buy it recently. Thats two months, I’ve played three games, so probably already saves me about £60.

  2. Sweet. Just traded in FC3 but never got platinum because I bought it used with no online code so didn’t do the multiplayer bits.
    Now I can!

    • Also just traded in! Had a huge clean out atually not i have just over £100 towards the PS4

    • Online code wasn’t needed to play online. If I’m site it only is for user generated map packs isn’t it. At least that’s what was said at the time. Match making was pants though.

      • *sure

      • Matchmaking was indeed pants and almost spoilt the coop campaign for me, fortunately the rest of the game was superb!

      • Whenever I tried the online menu it asked me for the code. I did a bit of co-op locally with a mate but he was pretty shite at it, sadly, so we didn’t get many done.

Once I’ve managed to pry myself off GTA, anyone want to help me get the co-op trophies?

  3. Unfortunately have a problem with Katamari as it’s saying I can’t have the plus version because I already have a voucher discount. Hmm. Tis true, but I don’t see what the problem is.

    • Same problem here. Boo.

      • It’s been fixed now. If it doesn’t work on the Vita, then just go to the web store as there is still two versions of it.

    • Same, but when I searched on PC, two (identical) versions were shown. Just try the other version, one had a “Tell me more” button which said something about 10 EUR vouchers. The other version just had the standard “Purchase now” option.

    • The PS store guy on the blog, Jawad, is going take a look in to it. Hopefully that means it’ll be sorted in a few days.

    • It’s been like that since Katamari came out – and there’s a few games that have done the same thing. However, due to silliness with the voucher and sales etc. I ended up getting it for about £3 months and months ago.

  4. Dragon dogma, I heard people say it’s good so will try it

  5. I didn’t like first person games and outright avoided them before I played Far Cry 3. Now I can’t get enough of them and I’ve been catching up on all the great first person games I missed out on. So if you’re not keen on first person games like I was, give it a go and it might change your opinion of them. Never heard of the other games but I’ll give them a go. Another great month for PS plus.

  6. I’ve already started my downloads hopefully done before maintenance kicks in at 3

  7. Just the Vita games for me.

  8. Lovely stuff, Giana Sisters, Dragons Dogma and Katamari all added to my download queue.

    • Just Dragons Dogma for me, fella. Although I had a PS3 controller near so added it to the queue on the website then switched on the controller. Heaven. :-) Saying that, I wish the PS Store website could fire up the PS3 remotely like the Xbox 360 does.

Um… I think it does that. If not, both consoles should do that! :-)

      • That would be handy, especially as DividSmythe reminded me above there is psn maintenance today.. Oh well, PS4 will go some way towards ruining us when it comes to waiting patiently for downloads! :)

  9. Just Dragon’s Dogma for me. I sold Far Cry 3 and bought on PC due to poor framerate on the PS3 version, so I won’t be downloading this again.

I love the little games they throw into the IGC just as much as (if not more than) the AAA titles. Giana Sisters looks interesting, and you’ve got to love a bit of Katamari.

  10. i’ll give FC3 a try, wasn’t the biggest fan of the previous games, but hey, worth a shot at that price. ^_^

Giana Sisters, all i know about that is the original got banned for being a copy of Super Mario Bros, so i should give that a try too.

    now, Dragon’s Dogma.
absolutely fantastic game, got it on xbox, but i won’t pass up the chance to play it on PS3.
especially as my brother’s still got my xbox copy.

but what the fuck is this noise?
