Lykan Hypersport Will Be The First Of Free Monthly Vehicles For Project CARS

Slightly Mad Studios has announced that Project CARS will be getting free car DLC every month, with the first car being the Lykan Hypersport. The car itself is the first supercar to be have been produced in the Middle East, and can get to 62mph in 2.8 seconds. The top speed the Hypersport is capable of is 245mph. The vehicle will apparently also be featured in the new Fast & Furious film.

Andy Tudor, Project CARS’ Creative Director, had the following to say.

“The Lykan Hypersport represents the first of a series of free cars we’ll be giving away every month as a thank you to our fans for being so patient for the launch of the game. We’ll have more info on the full schedule of further content for Project CARS soon but we hope that this is a great sneak peek of just one way in which Project CARS is going to expand in the future.”

Project CARS has suffered from a number of delays with the original date pushed from November to March. This was then revised again to April 2nd, but just a week later Slightly Mad changed the month to May. We’ve not heard of anymore delays yet, but anything could happen.

  1. My son is really looking forward to this game, got to say I am too. Driveclub was OK, as was the crew, hoping this has a hint of gran tourismo about it.

    • I still really enjoy DriveClub but the PS4 is missing a proper racing simulator like this. Looking forward to this slightly more than Codies new F1 game.

It seems the norm now to release free DLC monthly for racing games this generation.

    • hopefully this is the game that will justify my ps4. I think I have played it for maybe 15 hours since launch.

This game is everything I wish gran turismo was! It doesn’t have the huge (inflated with copy paste) car count or the (unrealistic and generic) car modifying, but everything I read tells me this will be a good sim for the consoles!

Will TSA be hosting races? Used to enjoy the GT5 meets.

    • Me too. I’m hoping it turns out Gran Turismo (ish) but without the filler. Was disappointed by the delays, but if it gives SM time to iron out any bugs then that’s cool with me.
