Back in November 2013 Carnivore Studio unveiled Kodoku, a horror title centred around Japanese folklore that would be releasing on PS4 & Vita. Since that reveal the studio has been incredibly quiet about the game, with almost no information released in 2014. That silence was broken today as the first look at Kodoku’s gameplay was released on Carnivore Studio’s site.
The footage is brief but shows what the developers are aiming for in terms of visual design for Kodoku. When Carnivore Studio first unveiled the game it was stated that combat wouldn’t really feature, instead stealth and investigation taking precedent. That’s certainly the case with this clip, as the protagonist tries to work out what has happened in that blood filled building.
There’s still quite a lot of work to be done, and it remains to be seen whether Carnivore can still meet the release target of somewhere in 2015. If that is still the aim then I assume somewhere near Christmas would be the release period, but I’d bet on Kodoku getting pushed back to 2016.

Will pick this up on the Vita for sure!
Is it getting a physical release or is it just going to be on the store?

Looks truly interesting. There’s a scorpion person that helps me a bit to remember that lady in Tokyo Gore Police and a Pig-Man that is nibbling on a carcass. In the screenshots we see our first look at the game’s hero: a marginally tousled white-haired man.
