Rocket League Patch 1.05 Detailed

Developer Psyonix has outlined its latest update for Rocket League – the sublime racing/footie hybrid that hooked millions of gamers during the long summer drought. Via a series of tweets, the team detailed several new features and fixes which we’ve simplified in the list below.

  • Matchmaking – patch 1.05 will allow PC players to ditch their PS4 cohorts.
  • Music – players will be able to skip and select tunes from Rocket League’s awesome soundtrack.
  • Ranked Play – there will be an option to search for your next match without backing out to the main menu.
  • Ranked Season – Psyonix will lay the groundwork for season one.
  • DLC – it’s rumoured that a second car pack will be announced soon. Players can also expect flags based on popular first person sword-fighter, Chivarly.

According to the devs, 1.05 is due in a couple of weeks with no specific timeframe given. Players should expect some server downtime, however, while these new featured are patched in.

  1. PS4 and PC matchmaking would be cool.

  2. If they could do something to stop my ps4 sounding like a jet fighter taking off when i load the game, that would be worth downloading. I love the game but its not worth melting my console for.

  3. “Music – players will be able to skip and select tunes from Rocket League’s awesome soundtrack.”

Haha – Their words I take it?? Not sure I would describe it as ‘awesome’. ;)

    • Also interesting that there seems to be no mention of the ‘crazy’ maps that they previously talked about. Dragging their feet on that one would probably not be the best move if they want to keep everyone invested.

    • I love it, at times I put the game on just to listen to the music for some time.

      • there is an official playlist in Spotify..
