Footage Of The Last Guardian Will Be Limited Until Launch

Remember when The Last Guardian was first announced way back in 2009? It caught peoples’ imaginations and the audience wanted more. That wish was not to be granted until E3 2015, six years after the initial reveal. By this time there had been many jokes about The Last Guardian’s absence, and some had even confined it to the fate of cancellation. Of course we know the game exists and will now be out for PS4 instead of PS3, but don’t expect heaps of screenshots or footage.

Shuhei Yoshida has been speaking to Gamespot, stating that the decision has been made by Sony to really limit how much of The Last Guardian is shown until its launch.

“Development is going well, but because it’s about the story, we don’t want to show too much. We wanted to show that it exists, it works, it runs. It’s not like we won’t show anything before launch, but I think we will try to limit what we show about the game.”

The Last Guardian is expected to launch in 2016, but who really knows when it comes to this game?

  1. I SUPPOSE i can live with that – at least now that it’s confirmed to be back on track.

  2. Apologies for shouting.. :)

  3. Good. Don’t want to know. I’ll be patient and let them do the tricky job of making it wonderful. :-)

  4. I really do think they only showed this game at E3 because they knew it would please fans and create buzz. Same with FFVII remake. Without these games, there really weren’t any other surprises.

Looking forward to The Last Guardian though but who knows if we’ll actually get it next year.
