If you have downloaded the Final Fantasy XV Platinum Demo then you will know the frame rate is less than impressive. The demo has dynamic resolution with the PS4 version running between 882p and 1080p with the Xbox One running somewhere between 792p and 882p, but both versions see the frame rate to drop to 20fps for long periods, and at some points it is as low as 15fps.
The game’s director Hajime Tabata has told Dengeki Online that the frame rate is not reflective of the final game and the title will be optimised on both consoles, which may lead to one version being slightly better than the other.
Of course that doesn’t explain why the released the demo in the state it is, the whole point of a demo is to sell the game, not show how bad it looks. Square Enix have a few months to fix things with the game out on September 30th.

Seems like developers are getting confused between a beta and a demo these days. Mind you, it sounds like an alpha if it’s not even been optimised.
Quite why they’ve done this with a ‘demo’, and 5 months before release, is a mystery.

It’s very confusing, the code ran perfectly fine on the PS4.5/XB1.5 devkits.. ;-)

I didn’t really notice the framerate issues tbh. As long as it doesn’t really effect the main product after borrowing money off a loan shark or payday loan to buy the game them I’m happy until it comes to the repayments.

I would rant about why Betas should not be glorifed demos but I’m not as well, it’s the fecking norm for betas to be used as demos and not to stress test servers. Along with being used to sell games.
It’s no surprise the framerate is crap as it’s either an incomplete build of the game with the working content restricted to just that area or just not completed. No doubt, this will cause people to think that it’s going to be crap based on the framerate issues. They should have just created a demo later on when they have less work to do.

The demo was utter shit anyway…
