Media Molecule Confirms Dreams Beta Delay

Back in October 2015 Media Molecule showed off its PS4 exclusive Dreams with a live demo, along with an announcement that there would be a beta for the game in 2016. Well there’s only two weeks left until 2016 ticks over into 2017, and there’s be no real news about Dreams throughout this year. Now with time running out Media Molecule has confirmed that the Dreams beta won’t be ready by the end of the year.

Now I know it may be difficult to hear, and delays make us sad too. However Dreams is Big. Really big. I mean, we always knew we were a bit crazy, but the enormity of it has taken even us by surprise. And rather than cutting corners we are staying true to our  vision – that Dreams isn’t just about drawing, or sculpting, but also game creation, storytelling, animation, music and sound, all rolled into one whole beautiful PlayStation game.

Media Molecule does say it has been a productive year of development for Dreams but there is someway to go before completion, or even getting a demo into the hands of the public.

From the heady days of the Mega Drive up until the modern day gaming has been my main hobby. I'll give almost any game a go.

  1. As much as I’d love to get my hands on dreams, I’m totally ok with this. Media molecule have totally blown me away with the lbp series so if it takes longer for this, I get why

  2. No problem. Can all devs take this as some sort of oath? :-)

  3. Good✅

  4. I’m not surprised but happy to wait until they get it as perfect as they can.

  5. I was wondering where Dreams had got to

  6. Makes sense. Develop the game they want to make not make a game for a date no mater what.

After the hours of joy from the various LBP, quite happy to see MM keep working to keep thier vision.
