Divinity: Original Sin II Is Heading Into Xbox Game Preview With A Free Trial

One of the most highly regarded games of last year, Divinity: Original Sin II is making the leap from PC to console in August of this year, but Larian and Bandai Namco are looking to give players on Xbox the chance to sample their game early, and for free.

On Wednesday 16th May the game will head into Xbox Game Preview, where you’ll be able to play the first three hours of the game for free. They’re obviously hoping that tempts you to delve deeper into its fantasy world, as pre-ordering the game through Game Preview will then unlock the first act, which amounts to  roughly 20 hours of adventuring. Naturally, all your progress will carry forward tot he full release in August, which is when PlayStation 4 owners will get to join the fun.

As with the original Divinity: Original Sin, Larian aren’t just porting the game across, but are making changes and reworking parts of the game in the process. This will be released as Divinity: Original Sin II – Definitive Edition, which will also come as a free update for all players on PC when it launches. Larian are hoping to take the feedback from Xbox Players to make that Definitive Edition even more, well, definitive.
