PS3 Continues to Outsell Xbox 360

Of course, our story yesterday predicted that the PS3 would outsell the Xbox 360 in the States over the last month but there’s been a surprise at the top of the sales charts as the PS2 – last gen technology – outsold both. Fantastic news for Sony across the board, with PlayStation product sales totalling over 874,000 units against 1,019,000 for Nintendo as the Wii and DS still dominate, and 254,000 for Microsoft as well, ya know, things break. Software:

Amazing news for Capcom, with the superior PS3 version almost level in sales with the 360 version despite the much smaller userbase in the States – clearly showing some discerning taste. Top of the charts, once again, is Call of Duty 4 selling nearly 300,000 units, and Wii Play is still in there, although this is mainly due to the extra controller and not the game itself, although drunken Cow Racing rules.
