Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time officially hits US stores on the 27th of October. As usual, there’s nothing other than a North American date, but I’m assuming a European one will appear soon. Hopefully for everyone over here it will arrive at about the same time as the American one. We don’t want another Resistance 2 scandal with about a month being placed between the American and European releases.
Along with the release date, American’s have been given four different pre-order packages to help them choose which retailer to buy from. Three give the player 5,000 bolts to start the game off with, each coupled with either a new skin for your spaceship, the ability to begin the game with the Cryo Mine Glove or the ability to begin with the Bolt Magnetiser and Box Basher power-ups. By far the most exciting pre-order bonus however, is the Discovery Package which gives the player access to the Insomniac Moon which is essentially a museum like level who’s layout mirror’s the real life Insomniac offices and shows off the content which didn’t make it into the game.
Personally, I’m not a fan of having all these different packages and whilst, I would have no problem deciding which of these I would go for, I don’t like having to sacrifice the other bonuses too. Luckily for us Europeans, we will be receiving a collectors edition and it was mentioned in the most recent Full Moon Show that (for once) Americans should be jealous of what we’re getting. In the meantime, here’s the special edition box art.
