Visceral Games, the EA studio responsible for Dead Space and Dante’s Inferno have confirmed they are looking at the PSN and XBLA as a future route to market. Nick Earl, General Manager at Visceral has been talking at length about where they’ve come from and what the future holds.
We know Visceral have a wealth of DLC in the pipeline for Dante’s Inferno culminating in April 28th’s co-op missions, and are currently working on Dead Space 2 for the PS3/360/PC which is set for release before April 2011, and they maybe even working on porting the Wii title Dead Space: Extraction. With this sort of pedigree its understandable that Earl goes on to say “the mission for this studio is nothing less than to be the leader of third-person linear action games.”
“Our express purpose is to make the sort of AAA hits that are just naturally found on 360 and PS3. We also do some PC work as well. That’s not to say that we don’t have smaller efforts under way and direct-to-consumer efforts on XBLA and PSN.”
