I apologise in advance if the following makes absolutely no sense whatesoever, as I’m still hopping about the place after watching the video below. There’s a new developer interview with Transformers: War For Cybtertron’s High Moon Studios available where the guys and gals behind the upcoming faithful reimagining talk all things Autobotic.
They discuss the challenge of redesigning these instantly recognisable characters, about going to where it all began – Cybertron, and how they have been literally charged with writing the canon for Transformers going forward.
While the recent new footage was nice, wait until you see this. Prepare to crap your metal pants.
We’ll finish with a quote from High Moon Studio’s Lead Concept Artist Jim Daly:
“I think we’re all thrilled to design Cybertron. It’s as much as a paradigm of science-fiction as Star Wars or Star Trek. It influenced all our childhoods, and probably our career paths as artists.”
The fact that he also mentions that the designs are influenced by the likes of Aliens, Tron and Blade Runner has us all spinning in a giddy state of childish glee. We’ll stop now before we wet the floor … again.
