Rush ‘N Attack Screens

If you’ve never heard of Rush ‘N Attack Ex-Patriot before, don’t worry its only just been announced – in fact this is me announcing it now. The title is a re-boot of the Rush N’ Attack game from the mid-eighties which I’d also never heard of until I looked it up and found out it was released over here as Green Beret.

Fantastic! I loved Green Beret I had it on my Speccie and my best mate had it on some weird Toshiba machine – it was an awesome game. Anyway Konami are re-booting the franchise whatever it ends up being called, although I’m holding out for something with Green Beret in the title rather than a ridiculous play on words. They’ve even made a whole story to go with the new game which will be landing on the PSN and XBLA in the Autumn, although they needn’t have bothered because the words ‘Speccie’ & ‘remake’ would have me handing over cash faster than any clichéd cold war story ever could, but just in case you’re interested:

In Rush‘N Attack Ex-Patriot, a clandestine struggle exists between Russia and the United States for military intelligence during the shadows of the Cold War. Through three massive environments of a Siberian prison complex, a bio-weapons laboratory, and a nuclear weapons base players will need to complete a variety of missions and survive encounters with elite Russian soldiers.

Players choose their own gameplay style by moving through each level loud and fast or silent and deadly. As they find themselves almost always outnumbered, players must avoid constant detection from the vigilant guards and the unblinking eyes of security cameras. Armed with a little more than a knife, the players will have to scrounge for weapons and supplies to survive as they are truly behind enemy lines.

Whilst we’re waiting for the leaves to fall you can check out the screens below and as a special weekend treat I’ve included a screen from the original – see if you can spot it.
