Blacklight: Tango Down Goes Co-Op

Zombie Studios have just announced (well, it was last night but it was embargoed until this morning) that the upcoming downloadable first person shooter Blacklight: Tango Down will include a full co-operative gameplay component.  The co-op mode, entitled “Black Ops”, is in addition to the already robust line-up of competitive multiplayer game modes.

Blacklight: Tango Down is an “AAA” quality FPS due for release exclusively via digital download on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 this summer, and is expected to cost €15.  “With Blacklight: Tango Down, we are raising the bar for what gamers can expect from DLC, with the kind of experience that traditionally is found in AAA retail game,” said Ajay Chadha from publishers Ignition Entertainment.

“Cooperative play is a critical part of today’s multiplayer experience, and Blacklight: Tango Down will deliver on this fun and dramatic way to play alongside three of your friends,” said Chadha. “This kind of elite content is what separates Blacklight: Tango Down from other DLC and makes it the most fully featured downloadable-only shooter available on any console or PC.”

TheSixthAxis has been told that the Black Ops missions will “increase the deep replay value of the game” by offering upgrades and character growth to those who choose to take the cooperative battle. Upon completing Black Ops missions, a player will receive a completion score that varies based on the difficulty setting, overall performance and time the player needed to complete the coop mission.
