In the latest ‘Pach Attack‘, industry analyst Michael Pachter claims that Microsoft are indeed working on a slimline Xbox 360, although he doesn’t think they’ll call it ‘slim’ as the “PS3 is called that”. It’s not, not by Sony anyway. “There’s a cheaper-to-make version of the 360 console coming out”, he says.
“They might have a different graphics card, there might be a slight improvement to the microprocessor.”
Pachter says the saving will be “around twenty bucks” but suggests the savings won’t be passed down to consumers – rather Microsoft will put in a bigger hard-drive and “throw in Natal” bundling the whole thing for “$299”. He gives the impression you won’t be able to buy the new SKU standalone, only with Natal.
Pachter has a little plastic Link behind him.
