In a move that is sure to raise quite a few eyebrows Microsoft has banned all cameras and video equipment from its “technology-free” pre-E3 showcase for Natal. The event, held the Sunday before Microsoft’s main E3 presentation, is intended to demonstrate the ‘universal appeal’ of Natal.
There are two possible reasons I can think of for Microsoft banning all video equipment. Firstly, they will unveil something utterly spectacular but for some reason don’t want their guests in the 10,000 seat theatre to leak pictures before its unveiling, uhm, the next day.The other option is they don’t want anyone sneaking backstage and catching on camera the bloke who is operating Milo.
Obviously I’m jesting about the second option but banning cameras is certainly going to cause speculation and frustration within the media.
Just thought of a third option – Steve Balmer is going to dance on stage naked and then make out with Bob Kotick. Anyone want to film that?
