GameStation Echo £75 OtherOS Refund

At the beginning of the month it became public knowledge that GAME were offering, in a limited capacity at least, partial refunds on PlayStation 3 purchases to those that could prove they had lost out due to recent OtherOS removal actions by Sony.

It’s now apparent that GAME’s sister company, GameStation, are also offering the same refund.

“We understand your concerns and your comments in relation to sale of goods legislation,” begins an email published by MaxConsole today.  “Sony’s decision to process this update has been made entirely independently under the terms and conditions of the operation of its PSN.”

“Whilst Gamestation is not liable for Sony’s decision to process this update it is in this instance prepared to offer a £75.00 Gift Card in full and final settlement of your claim without admission of liability.”

As with the GAME offer, the deal from GameStation is conditional upon the terms being kept confidential.  “By accepting this offer you agree not to disclose directly or indirectly to any third party the terms of this offer,” continues the email.

I bought my console on launch day from GameStation, but I don’t really mind the absence of OtherOS.  Everyone else: worth a shot?
