MAG Interdiction DLC Out

To celebrate the release of MAG’s new Interdiction DLC (sounds saucy, trust us, it’s not), Zipper are bringing back their popular “Double XP” extravaganza this weekend. Available now and priced at €7.99/£6.29, Interdiction is a new mode for 128 players, setting up two rival PMCs as they vie for control of three different command posts. Helping to achieve their objective, each squad has its own armoured convoy. A break from how MAG operates currently, the new action takes place on three new “faction neutral” maps – Creek Quarry, Lake Bayano Spur, and Sovot Motorway. It sounds chaotic, and to help with the carnage flying, Interdiction also offers a new “Heavy Improved” armour set while the usual host of new ribbons, medals and Trophies are also included.

Check out a (beardless) Jeff Rubenstein chatting with Zipper’s Ben Jones about the new mode and how vehicular combat is now no longer secondary to the Shadow War.

  1. does anyone still play this? id really like to get this dlc and play some MAG again, but if im the only one…

    • Yep – servers are still very active. At least when I’m playing there’s never a long wait to get some action.

      • i disagree. last night i played on it after not playing fo ages and it took forever to get into a game. although after hearing about this double xp weekend, the long waits between matches are probably worth it.

      • What game type were you playing? I usually stick to Sabotage and there’s rarely any wait.

      • domination – i like all the madness, it’s not often you get that in a game. plus im not a big fan of acquisition. and sabotage just never racks up enough XP for me.

      • Yeah i was online and saw that there wernt enough players to even fill a Domination map 8/

      • No-one seems to play Acquisition anymore, with Sabotage being the busiest, then Domination then Interdiction.
Player count picks up when the states comes online, so about 7,8pm. I usually play around 10pm and never wait long for Sabo or Dom.
Numbers seem to be the same across the old game modes with about 300-500 on each faction for Interdiction implying that overall player count has increased.

  2. Damnit i might buy this again haha!

  3. this should be discounted if you subscribe to playstation plus, that would make a believer out of me.

    • The DLC?

Might be in the future. You never know.

      • yeh the dlc, being a PS3 exclusive game/dlc, it would be crazy for them not to.

  4. I play in the Uk,so long as your on from 3pm+ there doesn’t seem to be more than a few minutes wait for sabotage or domination although last night there were large numbers trying the new dlc so it was a little longer.
The Dlc mode seems like alot of fun, certainly more open than the other modes.

  5. as a member of a regular group on mag, tried this out last night. A nice change of pace to sab, aq & dom. Well worth the 6 quid ;)

    • Agreed, was getting a Quake 3 style adrenalin rush fighting around C on that Sovot motorway map – it’s absolutely nuts.

  6. I’m on regular like, but switched out of TSA’s clan when I vetted into Valour, so if any of you wear green and have a dislike of sleeves, gimme a shout.
