Want to know what the first two month’s worth of PlayStation Plus will be? Well, SCEE’s James Thorpe has confirmed what you’ll be getting with your PlayStation Plus right up until September 1st in a comment in this post on the EU Blog. Some bargains, some great deals and lots and lots of content, although most of it is pretty old.

  1. So apart from the discounts, do you get all of this “free” with your subscription, but then can’t play any of it as soon as your subscription ends? This has all really confused me. Maybe I should read more.

    (And yes I know it’s not free if you’re paying for it…)

    • Ok I’m pretty sure themes and avatars are yours to keep, while games etc. are subscription based.

    Still not got: Field Runners, Age of Zombies, Destruction Derby, the themes, the avatars, Zen Pinball, Blast-Off, Alien Zombie Death, Medievil, Motorstorm Pacific Rift: Adrenaline Pack (although I’ve lost my save so I probably wont play it), or any of these themes or avatars too!
    Getting my moneys worth, definitely.

  6. You do all understand this is leased (Rented) content. So when subscription ends and if you don’t renew you subscription you lose it all.

    Lovely DRM, don’t you just love DRM.

    • yes but i dont play games 1year after i got them so thats not a problem for me.

    • Not all of it, just the games and DLC. From reading the blog post today it appears that if you re-subscribe you get all your content back. The cost to buy the dynamic themes etc.. (which you get to keep) would cover the cost of the service.

      As rentals go it’s far cheaper than any game rental service I’ve ever seen.

      • You don’t lose DLC either, as explained by James Thorpe on the EU blog:

        “Hi, sorry for the cofusion. All the DLC (e.g. Killzone DLC, etc) we are currently offering is NOT tied to the subscription and you will keep it forever. This will always be the case unless stated otherwise in the description of the content on the store.
        The reference in the T’s & C’s refers to a situation where we may, in the future, offer additional ‘Premium game elements’ and these may be linked to your subscrition.”

    • Which makes perfect sense. Otherwise you’d just have people sign up for the three month deal and then keep all the content.

  7. I’d buy it if you could buy over counter like you could with Xbox live plus it doesn’t look very good for the first two months anyway. If you look at most of the content it has been price reduced like the killzone packs in first months

  10. Im in and nothing is going to change my mind. I like free stuff, i know its not really free but it feels free
