In an interview with CVG, worldwide product marketing manager for XBox, Ryan Moore, has said that hardcore gamers (he means you) will be the early adopters of the technology.
“I think we know that hardcore gamers will be the first to go out and buy it, as they are with any product.” said Moore.
He then gives the most convincing argument ever why hardcore gamers should buy in to the new tech.
“We know we have to have a wide range of experiences, from things like the animals game you saw today to… to… games that are more geared towards the core.”
It appears that the worldwide product marketing manager for XBox has trouble naming any hardcore titles for his new product which you hardcore gamers are going to buy.

My guess is that most hardcore gamers wont be buying Kinect at all. Or Move. Wrong target market, imo.. Although, the fact the some ‘hardcore’ games like Killzone 3, GT5, etc have Move support is a bonus for Sony. I havent heard of any Kinect support for any hardcore games.

This is just a marketing. MS are trying to convince the causal market to buy this by telling them that the hardcore people love it.
I think causal gamers admire the hardcore gamer and trust their opinions about product and services. Also being a hardcore gamer has NOTHING to do with what games you play, system you use, or whether or not you buy a causal controller. Being hardcore is about putting games first in your life, before friends, family, and especially work. “Hardcore” is a style of play… or life, not a definition of what you play or use to play, so with that said he’s right. It’s the people who love games the most who will buy this first.
