Now that we’ve gotten over the shock of seeing Gabe Newell on a Sony stage without the big guy spontaneously combusting in a plume of paradoxical fury, it’s time to focus on the real meat of the story – Portal 2. Valve have released the first in what they’re promising to be seven early looks of gameplay from the spatially screwy sequel. Check it out below. [Insert Internet meme about cake here]

    • Good post there, I hadn’t spotted there were more videos. It looks like they have really added to the gameplay without changing the core idea, the tractor beams look especially mind boggling. There is no way I am going to be able to complete this without my brother telling me what to do!

  4. As far as the ending song is very good, I’m buying this! Who am I kidding? I’m just GLaD this is coming to PS3 so I can buy it! Oh and the first one was the only reason for me to buy The Orange Box!

    • Nope, he appears in several moments of the game, but it’s largely about puzzle solving with those portals.

    from The Mighty Boosh… in case its not been said
    already…which in my opinion is inspired.

      • Definately not Noel. Don’t think it’s the guy in Uncharted 2 (can’t remember his name either). That was a little more forced accent-wise

        it may have been a combination of watching the
        clip on my mobile and a late night dream of how
        cool it would be to actually be Noel Fielding.

        Its going to be hard to compete with the vocal
        talent of Glados… I still love the finale song,
        so its going to be hard to top that.

        I really hope they do.

      • Final song is written by Jonathan Coulton, look up some of his other music, there’s a lot of very funny, very gamer-centric songs on his albums. Mandelbrot Set is awesome sauce.
