Box art is the first wave of attack when it comes to luring unsuspecting consumers to part with their coins. If a game box looks drab and uninteresting then chances are that Joe public will probably pass it up in favour of ‘shiny looking game number 56’.
Kotaku are claiming to have gotten their hands on what appears to be the box art for Microsoft’s Kinect device, as well as the new Xbox 360/Kinect bundle. As you can see from the picture above, it draws heavily from the Nintendo Wii school of design – and then slaps a big dash of purple on it.
Now call us unusual but does anyone else really dislike the purple? The good news is that this has in no way been confirmed by Microsoft, so it might not actually appear at all.

Yuck! I hope this isnt official, its so bad! MS should stick with green, I normally associate purple with Sony and PSN Cards.

Personally,the motion controllers from either Sony or MS are not going to be on my radar. However, I do think that if anybody will win the race with people adopting the new technology it will be Sony with Move.

i’m with you, not really interested in either personally, but i do think move has a better chance of success.
i think move could do quite well in europe, there are probably more people with the playstation eye here than anywhere else.

i think the purple has been desgined to contrast with the green to make sure it stands out ? im not sure but i think the family picture on the side will make parents think this must be what my little angel wants for christmas or something or at least make them think that xbox is like the wii or something they can all enjoy but whereas my family all prefer a night on Buzz or FIFA torney

Doesn’t matter what the box looks like! Its £130 for a laggy web cam. No1s going to buy it. Thats why nobody has pre ordered it!

This colour scheme is pretty sickening (im feeling dizzy just looking at it).
I doubt Kinect will be anyway close to where Microsoft want it to be, this boxart could be the last nail in the coffin
