Lovable, huggable Uncle Bobby Kotick has been voicing his concerns that Activision are missing out on some cash. This time he is rather peeved off that you are paying Microsoft for the pleasure of playing Call Of Duty online and has been talking to the Financial Times regarding the subject.
“We’ve heard that 60 per cent of Microsoft’s subscribers are principally on Live because of Call of Duty,” he said, “We don’t really participate financially in that income stream. We would really like to be able to provide much more value to those millions of players playing on Live, but it’s not our network.”
Roughly translated ‘Microsoft are getting all the cash from COD online, give to me’.
“We have always been platform agnostic,” he continued, rather forgetting those timed DLC exclusives for COD, “Consoles do a very good job of supporting the gamer. If we are going to broaden our audiences, we are going to need to have other devices.”
Two weeks ago Kotick described how he would like to turn COD in to a subscription based game in which you would pay to play online. It appears his sights are very firmly set on squeezing extra cash out of Call Of Duty online.

There are too many greedy guys in this life, and this guy just seems to be so arrogant to realise he is in a fortunate position in life.

kotick will get his, when he squeezes people just that little bit too much in his quest to make ever huger sums of money and people reject activision.
you cannot keep treating people like an exploitable resource forever before they turn on you.
the way kotick talks you’d think he was doing us all a favour, what that ponce needs to remember is he, well activision, needs us more than we need them.

M$ charge people money to play online. Why cant Activision? I say do it. Perhaps it might make people play other games and notice just how ordinary COD is now! In fact Activision should make their own console so we can all watch M$ crash and tumble! Ha ha ha ha ha!!!

Like he says 60% of xbox Live play it. Its the best thing they have got and the best game they will ever have! Until MW3 comes out… i mean Black ops or is the map packs or maybe CoD4….. Well they are all the same!

Ok, I realize it’s this guys job to maximize the profit for his shareholders, and trying to get money out of everyone and everything is what he’s supposed to be doing. What I can’t wrap my head around is how he got that job when he obviously doesn’t know when to keep his mouth shut.
