Okay let’s play a little game called ‘ignore the previous Dragon Age post’ – as if by magic BioWare has officially confirmed that the game will hit the shelves in March 2011 on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
The key game features are as follows;
- Players will embark upon an all-new adventure that takes place across an entire decade and shapes itself around every decision you make.
- You determine your rise to power from a destitute refugee to the revered champion of the land.
- You have to think like a General and fight like a Spartan with dynamic new combat mechanics that put you right in the heart of battle whether you are a Mage, Rogue, or Warrior.
- The game goes deeper into the world of Dragon Age with an entirely new cinematic experience that grabs hold of you from the beginning and never lets go.
- Discover a whole realm rendered in stunning detail with updated graphics and a new visual style.

You forgot to mention that the main character is named ____ Hawke, and that it’s gone the way of Mass Effect. Single character with full voice acting.

I think that’s a good idea personally, I’d rather have full voice acting rather than being able my character after myself. It’s clever but it’ll probably only get outed in a couple of games and likely hood is it’ll probably get old after a while.

I’m late to the DAO party so there’s no rush in my eyes. Need to start and finish the Awakenings DLC then I’ll start looking to the future once more.

I wouldn’t worry too much about finishing the dlc considering the normal thinking of dragon age 2’s canon story is much much later than awakening anyway (awakening is only 6 mths after core game) i am hoping it is something related to morrigan, but we’ll see seeing as leliana’s dlc was released 2 days ago and a standalone game mode – they may do the same with other main party characters (exdcluding the “secret party member” – not mentioning name in case some of you have not found him)

is this game also going the way ME2 did and dumbing down the RPG elements and the multiple branching storyline of the original ME?
The engine was fine for DAO and if Bioware are making it more combat heavy I fear they will chuck out the indepth rpg elements and replace it with more action centric gameplay.

I dunno, I got bored of DA:O. It just wasn’t as epic as previous Bioware titles (Baldur’s Gate 1+2 and Planescape Torment to be more precise). Those were truly epic stories. DA:O was just about killing a dragon…
