EA MMA Heavyweight Roster Revealed

EA has revealed the heavyweight roster for EA MMA, which includes a lovely family photo of all the fighters together.

Here’s the full list:

  • Bobby Lashley
  • Randy Couture
  • Fedor Emilianenko
  • Alistair Overeem
  • Fabricio Werdum
  • Hidehiko Yoshida
  • Andrei Arlovski
  • Muhammed Lawal
  • Jeff Monson
  • Ken Shamrock
  • Kevin Randleman
  • Brett Rogers
  • Bob Sapp
  • Josh Barnett
  • Tim Sylvia
  • Andreas Kraniotakes

Not being that into MMA myself, the only names I recognise are Ken Shamrock and Bobby Lashley.  Are there any MMA fans in the house?  If so – does this roster get your attention?

  1. God that’s a weak roster. Heavyweight isn’t exactly the best stacked division in MMA but the absence of UFC talent means that there is very few relevant fighters there and more than a few who are nothing more than oddity attractions these days. Tim Sylvia? Ken Shamrock? Kevin Randleman? Bob Sapp? Then to really pad it out they’ve thrown in a few light heavyweights. If EA cannot secure better talent then I can only see this game struggling, especially given that it doesn’t play all that well either.

  2. This will really struggle against the UFC branded franchise, especially with, as LycanGav says, a weak roster like this. Most of these guys have seen their better days and Randy Couture is once again aligned with the UFC, so other than Fedor, I can’t see why you’d want to actually play this.

And Tim Sylvia? Wow, barrel officially scraped.

This had better be the NBA Jam of MMA games to even come close to the recent high quality UFC output.

  3. randy couture is a big name for ea to have, but as said before without any ufc talent its very weak

    • Randy Couture is signed under the UFC
As far as i’m aware he’s the only one in that list from UFC though

  4. Bobby Lashley’s WWF…or…WWE…or…WCW…or…TNA? Career obviously wasn’t good enough.
Those guys in the back are tall though…Yeesh.

    • Well bobby lashley was set to get a WWE title shot. But ended his contract because he wanted to do MMA

  5. Ken shamrock!!! Ain’t seen him in years. Will wait for the reviews on this one I think.

  6. There isn’t a lot of current “relevant” Heavyweight talent there apart from the obvious Fedor, Overeem, Werdum, Couture, Barnett selections but playing with Sapp and Lashley will be good for a laugh and I’m chuffed Shamrock’s in for nostalgia purposes even though he hasn’t won a fight (apart from his overturned victory over that fat fellow) in about 6 years.
