BioShock: Infinite Announced

The codename ‘Project Icarus’ is no more– say hello to ‘BioShock: Infinite.’  Irrational is taking us from the underwater city of Rapture to the city in the sky that is Columbia in what is already looking like an intriguing departure from the BioShock we’ve come to know.  Enjoy the trailer below;

  1. WHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTT?!!!!

    • Embargo be gone. We can all now finally talk about what is looking like an awesome title.

      • Awesome, but I can’t see how they will link it to the preexisting BioShock lore. We can see telekinesis, and a Big Daddy, but how can they exist prior to their invention (and without the underwater theme justifying Adam-sea slug and diving suit)

    • Exactly.

    • my thoughts exactly! what the hell is going on? this looks fucking fantastic!

  2. Utterly stunning.

    Where do I sign….?

  3. Bit soon?

    • I thought that too, the last one only came out about 6 months ago.

      • But the last was developed by 2K Marin, not Irrational, so not really too soon…

    • It’s not out for sixteen months yet though.

  4. 2012 release
    AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

    • Good.
There was a BioShock this year; don’t want it turning into an annual thing.

      • It was end of last year wasn’t it? Even so, I agree. If they take their time with this one it’ll kick fuckin ass!

      • February 2010, actually.

      • Of course it was. That brings flashbacks of the releases over 3 months of BioShock 2/Final Fantasy XIII/Dante’s Inferno/God of War III/Heavy Rain that so brutally murdered my wallet.

  5. Very nice trailer. I likey. Lovely art style too.

  6. bit of a crappy name. no?

    • The last one was originally called Bioshock 2: sea of dreams, so they’ll probably end up just calling it Bioshock 3.

    • Clearly they’re following in Bungie’s footsteps. they had Marathon, Marathon 2: Durandal and then Marathon Infinity…

      Strange name, though, yes…

  7. Looks amazing, what a stunning departure from what has been before. With it being announced so early I hope there are still a lot of surprises left in its story come release.

  8. Oh my goodness. That looks amazing!

  9. looking good if past games are anything to go by this will be a masterpiece.

  10. erm… AWESOME!?
