Just in case you had forgotten, both Microsoft and Sony are releasing some motion based gaming devices this Autumn. Following on from the recent news splurge on PlayStation Move comes a couple of trailers for some forthcoming Kinect games.
As you can see the emphasis is firmly on family fun and the kind of social gaming experiences that have made the Wii such a runaway success in the ‘party’ gaming environment. In the Kinect Sports trailer you get see some online play as well, accessed just by using Kinect to ‘press’ a button to either join or decline the online invitation.
Kinect is available in November, assuming you don’t need your family to be as good looking as these featured in the lifestyle videos.

I’ve got to say, I loathe these promotional videos for Kinect. Completely unappealing to myself. What I find great about Kinect is face and voice recognition.
I’m going to LOVE walking past my brother’s room saying, “Xbox: Off!”
We’ve got similar voices and look damn near the same as well… I’d like to see if it signs me in as him when I stand in front of it… Unless it can tell I’ve got less of a bulge in the belly. :D

Kinect Sports looks like it’s terribly dangerous for your furniture, even more so than Wii Sports, which already had me break a window, 3 teacups, and a controller. Joyride just looks like it’s nearly impossible to control accurately.
Oh and by the way, my family looks far far better than those people in the first vid.
