New Dead Nation Trailer

Tired of eviscerating the undead, perpetually sending them catapulting back into their unholy graves? Of course not. Killing zombies is like cracking open a tube of Pringles – once you pop (their heads open), you just can’t stop.

Hoping to help with this known addiction, Robert Karp, Associate Producer of XDev Studio Europe, has posted over at the official PlayStation blog, gifting us a new look at Housemarque’s Dead Nation.

Playable at this week’s Gamescom expo over in Cologne, Germany, we’ve sent intrepid zombie-mincer extraordinaire Dan Lee on a mission to find out more. Expect hands-on impressions of this twin-stick PSN-exclusive shooter this week. As long as Dan doesn’t succumb to the undead horde, of course.

  1. Im really not sure wether to go for this game. Its better than Zombie Apocalypse (from playing it at the Betarooms) but only having up to 2 player co-op lets it down for me. I want to play this sort of game with more than just one other person. Everything else about the agme is a positive for me though. I was especially surprised by how sharp the graphics were.

  2. want this game so hard

  3. It looks really good. Wonder how much it will be up for though. Some of the PSN titles with a higher price have put me off.

    • I understand the sentiment, but I wonder why that is the case for so many people.

A PSN price of £10-£20 (for me) represents better value than a £35-£40 retail game, if the games good the games good, irrespective of the distribution method.

      • Completely agree. I think people are still in the mindset where PSN titles must be cheap. For me, I just want the PSN titles to be good! :-)

From five pound to fifty pound. I couldn’t care less. If they’re great games and offer the correct value for money, count me in.

      • The only problem i have is that i don’t have a bank card so i have to take a trip to a game shop to buy a psn card every time i want to buy a game that is on the psn if i have no money in my wallet.

  4. I’ve not enjoyed a ‘surrounded by hoards’ game since SmashTV on the megadrive, but this looks great.

Also Super stardust HD is still one of the standout titles of the PS3, so housemarque deserve some faith that they can do it again.

  5. Anything with zombies is a win for me – will check this out for sure. Now all I need is the movie of World War Z, or even better a game of it!!

    • That was a cool book, I could forgive it its faults for its moments of brilliance. Raj Singh was a dude!

Seen the trailers for “The Walking Dead” yet? Can’t wait for that series to air, it better be good.

      • Just check out the trailer – as you say, I hope its as good as the trailer suggests it will be!!

  6. Has this got split screen?
That would gurantee me buying it!

  7. If this was on-line co-op, it’d be an immediate purchase for me. However, from what i’ve read it’s local co-op only which is a shame. Same goes for Shank when that’s released as well.

  8. Why couldn’t they add a 1st person camera?

    • I agree, I wanted it to be first person. It could have been an awesome left for dead style minigame, but the top down has put me off a bit.

  9. this reminds me of alien swarm… but with zombies xD

  10. Mine, haha love killing zombies
