New Mass Effect 2 DLC Coming

PS3 fans may have to wait until January to get their hands on John/Jane Shepard, but that’s not stopping BioWare releasing new DLC for fan-favourite Mass Effect 2 on the 360 and PC. Posting over on the official BioWare forum, Chris Priestly has provided some details about the upcoming “Lair of the Shadowbroker”:

“We are pleased to announce this morning that the next Mass Effect 2 DLC episode The Lair of the Shadowbroker will be available on the PC and Xbox 360 on Tuesday September 7 and will cost 800 BioWare/Microsoft points.

Not only is this an excellent adventure through Illium and the shadowbroker’s secret lair, this new DLC will add the Shadow Broker intel center, new research, and five new achievements – and give fans from Mass Effect 1the chance to continue a relationship with Liara.

No mention of if the PS3 version will have this pre-bundled on disc when it finally makes an appearance early next year. Head over to the site (linked below) if you are interested in some screenshots of the new content.

  1. It’s actually John. John Sheppard ;)

    • Correct that he’s called John, but he’s not called “Sheppard” :p

    • Jack to his friends.
      :)

      • Did you have LOST in mind?

      • So now there are three John Shepards. Lt. Coronel John Sheppard, Jack Shephard, M.D., Commandar John Shepard

    • or it could be jane.

      • He could be one of those sexually ambiguous characters like in you get in JRPGs.

      • he could be, but my shepard was definitely a woman.

  2. Nice I think Iv played Mass Effect 2 to death now so any new dlc would be nice I will definatly get this.

  3. this better be included in the PS3 version :-D

    • To be honest, I reckon ME2PS3 will be the comprehensive version, including all of the DLC (free and paid) as well as a short film or digital comic depicting the events of the first game.

    • for new owners it might.

  4. I hope this is included in the PS3 version. Played a bit today over my mates house and its a brilliant game.

  5. Haven’t got round to buying any of the DlC for ME2 yet, just been using the Cerberus network stuff. This DLC pack is tempting though.

    • Kasumi isn’t that great but Overlord is worth the money.
