Ico And Shadow Of The Colossus Collection Boxart

Finally, confirmation.  Online retailer WebHallen.com has put what looks like the official boxart up for the Team Ico Collection, which now appears to be called the Ico and Shadow of the Colossus Collection.

Far less catchy, but still utterly unmissable anyway.  Remember when we said it was coming in Q1 next year – looks like we were right – expect the Collection in April 2011, according to the retailer.

  1. I’ve never played these, God of War, or the Sly games… I’m glad they’re coming out with great ones that I’d never played yet, though.
I would LOVE to see Jack and Daxter next! Or even better, MGS!

  2. (Dies and goes to heaven)

    Cab;t wait! :D

  3. Corrrrr.

  4. Team ICO Collection sound waaaaaay better than Ico and Shadow of the Colossus Collection.

    Apart from that: WIN

    Day one purchase for sure.

  5. Never bought this, so I know now what my pre-order will be.

    • The important thing to remember is that it’s not really like anything else. Anyone who wants the craziness of most FPS games and nothing else (eg. dislikes Flower, Limbo) probably might not like ICO and SOTC but anyone else really should play it.

I’d noticed, last year, that I had the overwhelming feeling of thinking that the current generation still didn’t have anything like either title. This means that even though the graphics are getting on a bit, they’re still wonderful for so many reasons.

Some of my fondest gaming moments.

  6. they really better not frak this one up like they did the god of war collection.

    • ummm, what was wrong with the gow collection?

      • Good question. I played GoW 1 on the PS 2 and played all through the collection on PS3 and thought the hi-def remakes were stunning in terms of gameplay and graphics (yes the cut scenes didn’t have the same visual sheen but the rest of the collection was perfect).
What didn’t you like about it hazelem?

      • nothing wrong with the collection itself as far as i know, just that sony sat on the eu release for months, and no valid reason was ever given why, hell, no reason was given at all.

      • something like five months if memory serves.

      • Fair point hazelem. I imported mine and did resent paying the extra knowing it would be out in the UK soon after but didn’t want to wait. Let’s hope the release date on this isn’t deferred again.

      • sorry – hazelam – spelt you name wrong twice.

      • That was indeed rather shite. I imported mine and it works grand, but now its out here I get a nauseous feeling every time I see that cheeky french writing on the cover, and that hideous Region 1 label. Filth.

Here’s hoping for a more sensible UK release.

  7. Oh my. I’ve never had such a Day 1 Purchase urge as this. bunimomike makes sage comments – these are most def’ not your average triple A FPS titles. They are emotional, breathtaking, puzzling and awe inspiring epic titles.

Personally I prefer Ico to SoTC but they are both amazing titles and here’s hoping they reach a wider audience this time which from all this deserved hype I’ve no doubt they will.

  8. Never played these on the PS2. May have a look at it for the right price to see what it’s all about.

  9. Half way through Shadow of the Colossus my CD stopped working =(
Such a good game!!! I loved playing it, but never got around to buying a new one. But now…I can’t wait!

  10. Day one purchase for me.
Although I’ve never actually played either. I remember a short ICO demo I got free with a magazine. I was absolutely astounded by the water effects, and mesmerized by the beautiful and serene gameplay. God knows why I never picked it up the first time. I was possibly to busy climbing trees.
