‘No Rush’ For Dylan Jobe

Dylan Jobe, LightBox Interactive president, has tweeted that they “won’t rush” their next Sony exclusive game. The team have been beavering away on something and it’s rumoured to be Starhawk, a sequel to PSN multiplayer hit Warhawk.

“We know our fans and the media are very interested in getting an update on what we’re working on and I can’t wait to show it,” said Jobe,

“The game is still making absolutely fantastic progress — the result of all the hard work from our team here at LightBox Interactive! We don’t want to show it before its ready! Our industry shows its games too early a lot of the time and we are not going to make that mistake.”

“We’re really doing some new and exciting stuff and simply put, it all just takes time — and we won’t rush it. Player’s deserve games that aren’t rushed. Period.”

“And I am *so* thankful that SONY is giving us the time we need to make it really wicked — and it will all be worth it!”

Excellent news that Sony are giving them all the time they need to create a superb game but Warhawk was released in 2007, surely you can hint at something Dylan? Go on, tweet that your project is called Starhawk.

  1. This surely hints at some reveal in the not to distant future right?
I will be keeping an eye on this, curious to see what they have been working on all this time.

  2. Wicked? Is he seven years old? :-)

    • Oi I say that quite alot. 30 years old too. bums to you.

Honestly, I am really looking forward to this.

      • Im 30 but stop saying ‘Wicked’ a long time ago my friend. Were we all born in 1980 around these parts?

      • But wicked went out and came back in I thought? Or is it “sick” now? Yeah I was born October 1980.

      • I’m 32, as such older and wiser and I say wicked, so don’t knock it.

…..or maybe I’m just completely out of touch with the youth of today.

      • Hey, hey…hey! i’m 37 and still say wicked (leave the bugger alone) but then again, i still say mint, ace, and er…bunkum and boulderdash :P

      • AAARRGGHHH!! nofi, please give us an edit button (as i’m a gramma nazi)…ahem, i meant Boulderdash and bunkum.

        *starts Merriam-Webster cleansing*

  3. I couldn’t get into Warhawk, but I left it too late. Would like to give this the full interest it deserves when it comes out, if it ever does and if it is what we think it is, which it may not be, but hopefully it is. :)

    • I used to play warhawk all the time, got all the DLC as well, but i left it alone for ages, thought ‘that would be brilliant to go back and play’ and i just couldn’t get into the flow of things, I had me ass kicked, literally!

  4. did someone say Starhawk? *ears prick up*
top of my can’t wait list – and I’m glad they’re taking their time and not releasing videos and demos and details and then delaying the game over and over cos that’s the kind of thing that really peeves me off.

  5. could there be a good space combat game?

    • Star Wars Battlefront II

      BOOM!

    • Colony Wars…nuff said (oh and Elite)

    • EVE Online for me, nothing comes close, though it’s a bit different. Freespace 2, Starlancer and Xwing vs Tie Fighter from the traditional type

  6. Would be a a definite buy for me, really cant wait to see some info on this game!

  7. Might be a good one! And the Sony giving them time bit made me laugh. Home,GT5,LBP and the actual console are a few reasons I chuckled. If anyone allows times and deadlines move its Sony.lol

Couldn’t get into warhawk, maybe this new version might have an easier entry level…

  8. looking forward to this
warhawk is a modern day classic

  9. Firstly I’d like to say how great it is to seethat a dev is actually doing what ithibkthey should all do, and not be revealing things to early in development. It drives me mad when the earth is promised, and the final product is more like a small bungalow in Chelmsford.

Secondly. Omg Omg Omg Omg!!!!!!! Starhawk is getting closer. Can’t wait for a tsa tourney in that!

  10. He’s right, much like films, games begin to be marketed waaaaay too far in advance of their releases.
