We’ve often been heard bemoaning the relatively little coverage given to WiiWare. There is, it’s fair to say, quite a lot of content on the service that we’re simply not interested in but there are some real hidden gems in there too.
So this morning’s news that Nintendo will be offering demos for certain titles “for a limited time only ensuring the line-up is kept refreshed” is very welcome news indeed. There will be a regular list published at wiiware.nintendo.co.uk so you can check what’s there from your work/school PC before rushing home to try it.
The added functionality kicks in this Friday with demos of Furry Legends, Jett Rocket, ThruSpace and Zombie Panic in Wonderland. We can only hope that this chance to try selected titles before you buy will result in a few more people finding the quality that seems to be too-often ignored on WiiWare.

Demo’s … like 10 years slow Nintendo?

They did this a several months ago with World of Goo and a few others. Was a nice feature, good to see its come back.

Great news, I’m convinced there must be a treasure trove of unique Wii games that I just haven’t found beneath the mountain of dross. I’ve wanted demos for a long time and this could just respark my interest in the console as a whole.
