In surprising Sunday evening news, a short teaser trailer for a new entry in the Sly Cooper series has been discovered on the disk of the just-released – in America – “Sly Cooper Collection”.
The rerelease of the first three games of the trilogy only came out earlier in the week, but already someone has managed to obtain the Platinum trophy for all three games, and in the process gained access to the teaser.
There’s pretty much nothing to see in the video, which just shows Sly creeping around in silhouette whilst some enemies pass by, but it confirms that a true sequel to the series is on the way. The video does pose more questions than it answers though. Is series creator Sucker Punch behind the game (they are currently working on inFamous 2 for a 2011 release)? When should we expect an official announcement? What does the question mark in the logo even mean?
The Sly Trilogy, as it’s known here, will release December 3rd, so we’ll likely see some form of Sly 4 announcement by then at the latest.

I’ve never played any of the sly games, but I want to give the trilogy a shot. I’m guessing the 4 one will be made by sp as they’re finishing off infamous for reasonably early next year, giving them time to get sly 4 out in 2012. I recon they’ve already started work on it.

The Sly games are masterful; though they may look a wee bit childish, they are well designed and addictive. I can’t wait to pick this up for crimbo.
My guess is that since Sly 3 Sucker Punch have been throwing ideas at a sequel. However, when the PS3 launched, we already had a few platformers and the initial adoption figures of the console may have put them off re-vamping their series for the next generation.

OMG!

Never played these games but definitely gonna buy the collection. Don’t know when I’ll find the time to play them as there are simply bucket loads of belters out on the PS3 at the moment, with the juggernaut GT5 release looming…..

The question mark in the logo mean they haven’t picked a subtitle yet. That’s pretty obvious. All Sly games have had subtitles and so will 4.

Are the sly games any good? I never once played ’em

lol, anyone else pick up on the quiet little “Woot” at the end there?
Erroneus
Yep, awesome stuff.

I’m just gonna say it and it I know it’s offensive to some but there comes a time when you have to…….. I’d like to see a new Crash Bandicoot……. oops did I just just blurt that out ?
I’m not even that big a fan but for nostalgia’s sake it’d be ok until it was annoying again.

Just so you know for future reference, disk = abbreviation of diskette i.e. floppy/hard disk, disc = round disc-shaped storage medium i.e. Compact Disc, Blu-ray Disc.
