Sony have updated the PlayStation Blog with a notice of some upcoming PlayStation Network maintainance, starting tomorrow afternoon and continuing into the early hours of Friday morning.
Here’s the details:
PlayStation Network is offline for scheduled maintenance from 16:05 on Thursday 18 November 2010 until 01:00 on Friday 19 November 2010, GMT.
During the maintenance, you will be unable to access the following services:
- PlayStation Store on PS3 and PSP.
- PlayStation Network Account Management.
- PlayStation Network Account Registration.
In addition, you will not be able to sign in to PlayStation Network from eu.playstation.com. If you wish to play online during the maintenance, please ensure you sign in to PSN before 16:05 on Thursday 18 November 2010.
It appears that only the Store and Account sections of the network are going down for modification, but that’s a massive chunk of peak game time that those services will be inaccessible for. There’s no similar notice on the US Blog, so assuming this is EU specific maintainance, you have to wonder why Sony would pick what must be a pretty busy time on the PSN to take it down.

Will you definitely not be able to sign in to play online? They’ve had maintenance like this before where you could sign in even though the store, account management etc was inaccessable.

Was looking forward to some Hot Pursuit multi-player tonight, but it’ll have to wait until Saturday now.
I do think they’d be better scheduling downtime through the day on Tuedays though – prior to PSN update & fresh release schedules…
