The big question isn’t if Far Cry 3 exists (it does, they’re working on it), but whether or not it’s going back to Far Cry 2’s dusty and dangerous setting of Africa. If they keep with tradition, of course, changing the location of each game like they did with the first, that crazy rumour of Far Cry 3 heading to Antarctica might be more on the money than most people think.
It would be hard for Ubisoft to turn their backs on the Dark Continent, however; especially after spending so much time and effort building an engine that can render both the arid and temperate environs of an East African country so well.
Abandoning the quasi-speculative bioengineering concepts of Crytek’s Far Cry 1, Ubisoft Montpelier’s realistic, open-planned African jaunt was received well by those who prefer their action a little more grounded and like it when their guns jam due to dirt or degradation. Crazy fools. So, we’re definitely up for another safari excursion.
Where (both literally and figuratively) the French studio goes with Far Cry 3, we honestly can’t tell. Considering the title hasn’t even popped up on earnings calls of late, don’t be surprised if this particular entry re-appears on a far-off TSA’s Top 100 Games of 2012 compendium. If one such thing ever exists.

Far cry 2 was fun at first, but became really boring and annoying with the random attacks. I mean how the hell did the ai know i was heading that way. If they sort out the problems FC2 had then i might get this.

i have to say the game did piss me off at times but the second half was much much better than the first. the last few missions made up for it all. loved it.
The map editor was a blast as well. i love a few of the maps i made but the system for downloading and playing other maps meant a lot of the good ones were lost. shame really. if they took a note from little big planet then it could be a hit
