Some new Uncharted 3 gameplay footage has surfaced thanks to the Jimmy Fallon show in America. It shows Drake and Sully desperately trying to escape a burning building whilst avoiding getting their bits shot off by gun toting enemies (seriously, are there any other kind?).
Whilst the game looks gorgeous, it’s the melee combat that impressed me – it looks fluid, weighty, and brutal. Finally, we’re hearing some rumours that the game will offer two-player co-op during the single player campaign. We’re looking into it.

Please let the coop be a separate part. Uncharted 2 coop proved that all coop is interested in is massive waves of enemies. Cutscenes and plot just get in the way of things, and dialogue is always drowned when you chat with your friends.

Is Gears campaign co-op? If so I’d hazard a guess that Naughty dog want to equal that.
I think extra co-op missions approach of Uncharted2 was good, it didn’t interfere with the story but wasn’t detached from it either.

Gears campaign is coop I think, but I’ hazard players of Uncharted are more interested in the story than Gears players.
I think campaign coop looks better as a bullet point on a review or the back of the box, but it seems a wrong idea to me. Or you would have to make serious changes to the levels to make it work (I can’t see long platforming sections or puzzles in coop).

No I think you’ve raised a valid point.
That’s why I think it worked well last time with a separate co-op mini-campaign
I loved the puzzling bits of Uncharted, but they’re all over to quickly and the puzzles are largely speaking rather shallow. the shooting action is solid, but by the time you get to chapter 25 and you have to fight your way across one more clearing with enemies ducking behind cover it does tend to border on “oh no not again, I just want to explore or puzzle for a bit”
and like you say that wouldn’t work too well with full campaign co-op so it kind of limits the whole game to just the shooting action, and then mic chatter will get in the way of the excellent story telling & acting which elevates Uncharted above its rivals & peers

Agree with you on this one, keep them separated.
What I personally think would be a great idea, is to have co-op missions unrelated to the main story. This way we could explore some of his not to distant past, and therefore learn how and why his relationship with characters like Eddy Raja, Harry Flynn and Sully spawned. These could be 20-40 minutes in length, and would really give ND the freedom to be creative with setting and set-pieces, also leading to good material for multiplayer-maps.

Yes, Naughty Dog please read this!!
This is an excellent idea. Some co-op missions so that box is ticked but then we also learn more about the characters and what relationship they have with Drake.
Even better, to make the wait less between numbered Uncharted games, release a standalone title or downloadable game choronicalling who everyone was!

It looks great, as it should be.
Visually, i don’t expect the defference between 3 and 2 to be huge, uncharted2 was a huge step over the first one so they can’t make the same huge step visually as they used most of the ps3 power with the last one.
Looking forward to it.

Thing is, seeing what Naughty Dog did in the past, they might just surprise is. But yeh, you are right. Its a very large benchmark they have set for themselves.
Dr_mohannad
I think we’ll see alot of people moaning about uncharted 3.
The reason is their expectations are blown out of proportion.
So no matter how good the third one is, they’re gonna be disapointed (which was noted in the last video from ND named “uncharted 3: the reveal”).
It’s their problem not mine, i can’t wait for uncharted 3.
kjkg
True true, think you have the right attitude. They can ruin their enjoyment of the game, Im surely going to love it though!!
Charmed_Fanatic
Looking good! Playing through 2 at the moment and two player co-op single player is what it needs!

There’s not much they need to improve on from Uncharted 2, so I wouldn’t mind if it’s pretty much the same game just coated differently. Day one purchase for sure!
Grey_Ghost13
I’m just looking forward to the story! Best story telling in games bar none for me!

no problem, NBC are all over youtube like an itchy rash on a…
well you get the gist

While the game looks awesome, but isn’t it too early to announce and show gameplay?

Given the game is less than a year away I wouldn’t have thought so. Bioshock Infinite released some very polished looking footage this year and that game isn’t due for release until 2012.

By the way, the video doesn’t appear to be working any more :(

2 player local co-op for the campaign would be the best news about uncharted 3 since the reveal of uncharted 3

I will never understand the fuss over Uncharted. Sure, its a great series. Sure, it has good looking graphics and amazing gameplay. But I just don’t get why everyone has to post comments acting as if they just literally jizzed themselves. In my opinion, its a Tomb Raider game with great graphics. Its a great game, but nothing to have a Penis Cringe over :/
Dexter17
I’m sure that I could say the same about a game that you get excited about. People have different tastes; don’t just mock the people that are anticipating it because you in paticular aren’t too excited.

I knew someone would use the opinionated comeback against me…
I’m sorry, sir.

it’s because it is one of the only games that comes close to being (if not is) perfect in all aspects be it writing, acting, gameplay etc.
I’m more shocked by how people go crazy for COD, the last COD to be worth the price was Modern Warfare (note that’s Modern Warfare not Modern Warfare 2 it was alright…but nothing new same with Black Ops)
Uncharted was excellent, Uncharted 2 only got better…Uncharted 3…even at this early stage in development looks to follow the trend and only get better.
