NFS: HP Free DLC & Steering Wheel Support

Since Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit became 2010’s highest rated racer according to Metacritic, EA’s Criterion Games haven’t been resting on their laurels.

A title update has landed that awards everyone with the free One Million Challenge DLC, including the Lamborghini Murciélago LP 650-4 Roadster, Bentley Continental Supersports Convertible and the Dodge Viper SRT10 Convertible Final Edition.

Criterion have also patched in steering wheel support, meaning all Logitech ‘Driving Force’ wheels and the higher end G25 and G27 wheels are supported on the PlayStation 3.

In addition, next week’s Super Sports Pack PDLC seems to have been pre-loaded into the game ensuring compatibility between the ‘haves & have nots’ online, this update includes:

  • The Bugatti Veyron SS
  • Porsche 911 GT2
  • Gumpert Apollo

All the vehicles come in both SCPD and Racer flavours and there is a whole new series of events, Trophies and Achievements to accompany the vehicles which you can see in the launch trailer below.

  1. So NFS:HP is giving GT5 a good run for its money. Nice to see. I have both games, and hope something as good appears for GT5 soon.

    • I sold my copy of GT5 for NFS:HP, bloomin wise move to.

    • Japan is getting 3cars so we can only hope we get that aswell.

  2. Always nice to get something for free . Great game , as is GT5.

  3. Ahhhh steering wheel support. NOW we’re talking!

    • Yep, going to be interesting to see how it plays with one.

  4. All credit to Criterion for the updates. Tried using a Driving Force GT with it last night and to be honest I struggled with it after GT5. Couldn’t find any options for changing the settings which would be nice.
It is a great game, and Autolog is genius, especially now you can access it through an iDevice.

  5. Hmm, I wasn’t going to get a wheel because it couldn’t work on this, now I will have to reconsider…

  6. Thank you Criterion, you guys ROCK!!!

  7. How good is that?!

  8. Finally wheel support is added.

  9. Brilliant news to hear that wheel support has been added. I really must get back into NFSHP again soon, but I’m completely hooked on GT5 at the moment.
