We started life as a PlayStation 3 blog and even though we’re constantly expanding and diversifying, the majority of our staff are primarily PlayStation 3 gamers. So this vote was close to the hearts of many of our staff as we’re sure it will be for many of our readers.
This year saw a strong schedule for Sony’s machine. We saw God of War III and Heavy Rain lead the pack at the start of the year and Gran Turismo 5 screech into view at the tail end of the year.
So it is perhaps surprising that one game stood out so prominently above all others. Even with such quality competition as MAG, 3D Dot Game Heroes and ModNation Racers there was one very clear winner.
Our PlayStation 3 Exclusive Game of the Year is Quantic Dream’s narrative-heavy, near-future detective thriller, Heavy Rain.

Didnt expect that, but i loved Heavy Rain and was sad to hear when they said no more content was going to be released for it, a sad moment :(

Good day for developers trying to bring something new to gaming.
I’m just a little surprised that GT5 didn’t place higher. Equally as flawed as HR, but also equally brilliant.
Good that MAG got a vote too. Also trying something new, and also very flawed, but I really enjoyed it, as it was so different from all the other FPS games out there.
So I think that sums up the PS3’s year. Flawed, but great nonetheless.

Whilst several of the staff love GT5, there are an equal number who could take or it leave it (such as myself). It certainly has split opinion :o)

Really? I’m shocked at that result. Also seeing that list of PS3 exclusives highlights just how poor 2010 was for PS3 exclusive games.
I bet any other year Heavy Rain wouldnt have stood a chance

Well TBH I already knew MAG wouldn’t make top, despite it being a brilliant game. GT5 should really be top, but Heavy Rain(which I still dont own) is an alright game for my liking.

A superb game that well deserves top spot, one of the few games where I have genuinely cared about the characters and the decisions I had to make. A Norfolk 3 thumbs up from me!
