We started life as a PlayStation 3 blog and even though we’re constantly expanding and diversifying, the majority of our staff are primarily PlayStation 3 gamers. So this vote was close to the hearts of many of our staff as we’re sure it will be for many of our readers.
This year saw a strong schedule for Sony’s machine. We saw God of War III and Heavy Rain lead the pack at the start of the year and Gran Turismo 5 screech into view at the tail end of the year.
So it is perhaps surprising that one game stood out so prominently above all others. Even with such quality competition as MAG, 3D Dot Game Heroes and ModNation Racers there was one very clear winner.
Our PlayStation 3 Exclusive Game of the Year is Quantic Dream’s narrative-heavy, near-future detective thriller, Heavy Rain.

In my opinion, Heavy Rain is the only game which has brought something new to the table this year, and it shows. Despite the sometimes sub-par voice work, the story is incredibly well-structured and so are the characters. Until Heavy Rain, I had never played a game which had me so shocked about the ending.

I personally voted for Gt5 but this is definitely a worthy winner. Fantastic game that i couldn’t stop playing until i’d finished it. Well done qd.

I’m surprised that Heavy Rain won by such a significant margin. That said, it was undeniably an enjoyable game, and certainly deserves credit for being a bit different to the norm.

Demon’s Souls originally came out in 2009 though. I know it was released in Europe this year but I still don’t think it should have been included.

A good choice…I guess. The thing is, I’ve never played Heavy Rain, although I’ve really wanted to. The reason for that being that some random internet-fucktard (sorry) spoiled the ending for me.

That was the main problem with Heavy Rain’s release. Either you played it on day one or avoided the internet until you did.

I played it and whilst half way through the game my mate text me to say who the killer was. Wasn’t best pleased and it kind of spoiled the rest of the game for me. Still i enjoyed it and it’s a worthy winner.

Loved heavy rain and plan to go through it again with move when I get chance. My money was on the almighty god of war trois. But hr deserves it as it was so individual. Fair plY to quantic dreams as they deserve some recognition. Would be nice if as a thank you thy released fahrenheit in hd. Real nice.
