I think a good deal of us have heard of Nintendo’s ‘Virtual Boy’. Whilst it was way ahead of the curve, this personal console/TV system flopped drastically – probably not helped by the fact it gave users headaches. Fast forward to 2011 and Sony has unveiled an amazing new 3D display headset prototype.
Making you look like an even more futuristic Geordi LaForge, this amazing little display is worn like a visor, contains a screen for each eye, and has inbuilt headphones. Please Sony, bring this to market – I want to play Uncharted 3 on it!

A decent set of headphones can cost £80 (my son just spent his Christmas money on a pair for the XBox) so this would be more like £150-£200, especially if it’s the first to the marketplace.

The idea of watching 3D content on the go is impressive and futuristic, but far too good to ever be possible (yes im cynical like that.
however what i find interesting most is how similar this visor is to the ARI glasses found in Heavy Rain.

If it was able to fully link to the PS3, would be a bit dodgy. What if you forgot where you are when browsing the net for certain “material”!!?
