Deus Ex: Human Revolution is 25 Hours Long

Eidos Montreral’s bio-modification-heavy cyberpunk noirish* prequel, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, has over a solid day of gameplay from start to finish. Speaking to PC Gamer, producer David Anfossi references play-testers of the latest complete build who generally work a six day week. He claims:

So far with them playing about six hours every day, most of them don’t complete the game.

Six days playing for six hours is actually 36 hours, so we assume producer Dave is quoting the play-through time of some of the more hardcore of testers as his 25 hour benchmark.

Anfossi also mentions how the game opens up, with casual players invariably getting something extra out of the game the more they get into it. He states:

The ones that are more casual gamers, who are used to more ‘corridor, cut-scene, corridor, cut-scene’ type of gameplay — they play it that way for a while. Then suddenly, there’s this new world that opens to them, and they start getting a bit more creative.

*Say that five times fast.

  1. Wow, haven’t been considering this before, but now I’m tempted. I really like games that have longevity, gives you bang for your buck. Some quality games just don’t last long enough.

The game I remember most is Resident Evil 4, which took me 22 hours to complete my first full playthrough. Not even mentioning the playthroughs before that when I was a bit rubbish and would run out of ammo and cash by the boss levels.

  2. I am highly anticipating this game, so I hope it meets expectations… as they are pretty lofty at this point. :)

  3. While it’s awesome, I expected it since it’s doesn’t have MP. But if it’s like the original DX, you’re going to need to play it several times to get to try everything in the game, and to see every ending. I can easily see myself playing this for way over a 100 hours.

  4. Yay I love longetivity games =D.
I have high hopes on this one. Watched far too many trailers and articles.
