MDK 2 For Wii Is Nearing Completion

The Interplay remake of BioWare classic ‘MDK 2’ is in certification for the Wii, meaning as soon as Nintendo give the thumbs up it will be ready to hit WiiWare. Trent Oster, head of IdeaSpark Labs, had the following to say:

“MDK 2 for WiiWare has entered the final stages of the certification process” and the Wiimote “adds a great deal to the gameplay, making a great action platformer even better.”

The game is a third person shooter/platformer which sees a janitor, a mechanical six-legged dog, and a Doctor go up against an alien invasion. I like those odds.

  1. mdk 2? blimey, haven’t heard anybody mention that game in years.
it was pretty fun if i recall.

it was a mental game, i mean, how many games have the lead character being a guy with a gun strapped to his face? 2 that i can think of. :)
and you thought bayonetta with gun shoes was odd.

  2. Only played the first one on the PC but thoroughly enjoyed it. Wonder if it making it to the Wii would lead to an HD move remake? MDK2 was on the PS2 after all.

    • A HD remake is coming, but on the PC.

  3. I played MDK 1 or 2 (can’t remember) on the Dreamcast. Hilarious. Couldn’t beat one boss in particular, though I tried a LOT of times.

  4. I remember it had a BFG! – no not big friendly giant.. big f**king gun!

  5. Adored the MDK games so this is a very welcome return, unadulterated chaos :D the French pop song ending of the original game on PC was class!
