Activision Aiming For Take-Two?

When you’re dubbed the best publisher of 2010, everyone else takes notice.  It’s like wearing nothing but bright red super-tight underpants – people stop and stare, and then want to pinch you.  In the nutsack.

And so enter Activision, who MCV are claiming are quite keen on fondling the delicate curves of Take-Two, citing ‘rumours at the highest level’ as reason enough for the interwebs to suddenly get very excited about Call of Duty: San Andreas.

Or something.

Indeed, abandoning the likes of Guitar Hero (however temporary) and True Crime might well make way for cozy bedtime chats between the remaining Activision labels and those under Take-two.

Not that the rumours are anything more.  “They are just rumours,” says some chap on MCV. “And, of course, given Activision’s news this week, everyone is now looking to see what their next move is. But you can definitely put two and two together and make four-ish.”

Imagine if Grand Theft Auto heading to Activision was reason enough to let go of United Front’s title?

why dont acti just take over prodution of the getaway, i need that game, thats why i bought my ps3, gimmi my fix!!!!!!!!!

  4. I precicted the buy THQ, release a GTA every year for the next four years then shut down Rockstar as it’s no longer profitable, that is the Activision busines model.

They bought Harmonix, released no less than six Hero games in the space of about 18 months then wonder why no one buys them. So the shut down Hero.. and now have five COD related studios.

*puts on Propelorheads vs Shirley Bassey*

“It’s just a little bit of history repeating.”

  5. Really hope this doesn’t happen.

That would mean getting zombie-mode in Red Dead. Oh wait…

The ultimate twist would be Activision buying EA, as an ultimate cruel trick on the ex-COD devs. Very extremely totally unlikely, I know, I know. Would be funny though.

  6. Oh wow that is crazy, all those big hitters under one roof. Activision is trying to dominate the gaming market. I wish they would release more information on Modern Warfare 3. I just read here http://mwarfare3.com/modern-warfare-3-to-be-95-bug-free-142 that they will make Modern Warfare 3 at least 95% bug free according to Sledgehammer Games. Which is great because Black Ops was extremely buggy and the experience was just ruined. And don’t let me start with MW2…
