THQ Announces Saints Row: The Third

THQ has announced that ‘Saints Row: The Third’ will be launching for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC at the end of this year. Whilst the games existence was outed quite a while back, it’s nice to have an official name and release window. It sees the 3rd Street Saints head into a gang war with a group known as the Syndicate. THQ had the following to say:

“Saints Row: The Third puts you on top of the world, right at the beginning of the game, with all the perks that go along with being the head of an elite criminal organization.

There’s no delivering pizza, no shuttling family members about in a long series of taxi missions. Instead, you take all the power of the Third Street Saints and you take the world by storm.”

That’s what we like to hear.

  1. Brilliant cant wait to try this out. Love the swipe at GTA lol. Any screenshots or trailers?

    • I like that too, definitely in the spirit of the previous game.

  2. “There’s no delivering pizza, no shuttling family members about in a long series of taxi missions”

  3. …until you inevitably lose it all on the 3rd mission and have to rebuild your gang…

loved 1 and 2 though, so this should be pretty good too :)

  4. Isn’t it a bit too late? I’m sure there’ll be other games at the same week of Saints Row 3.. or else it was December, December 2010 was lacklustre.

  5. Only played the first couple of hours of the original SR, but really liked it. The character customisation was a refreshing difference from the GTA franchise. My guy was a cockney 80’s rocker.

  6. but I like delivering pizza ;(

    • I prefer eating it!!!

      • I prefer fu…wait…what are we talking about?

  7. I’m going to have to remortgage my house this year with everything that is coming out.

  8. I enjoyed Saints row 2. I might keep an eye on it as there are too many good games out this year. Yes i’m looking at you Uncharted 3 and TES Skyrim. I wonder if Rockstar will annouce GTA5 soon?

  9. So they want to compete against Uncharted3,Mass Effect 3 and Skyrim???

  10. The customisation is what kept me going back, along with the OTT action that GTA lost, albeit I preferred GTA by a large margin, so I might have to pick this up too.
